About Our Free Fundamentals

WHAT FOR?

Have you ever wanted to perform Shakespeare but found it to be too intimidating? Pretentious? Irrelevant? Now is the perfect time to study this beautiful text in a safe and fun environment. Plus, you’ll learn how it can make you a better actor for film/TV/voiceover work.

MONTHLY!

This intro class takes place once a month ― using SoHo Shakespeare Company’s Action-Based Imaging Technique, you will learn to bring the language to life in a way that makes this centuries-old text easy to understand, both for the actor and the audience!

WHO WORKS?

Everyone will have the chance to participate in group exercises.  Some volunteers, who choose to prepare a 1 minute Shakespearean monologues in verse, may be asked to share a portion of their work.

WHAT TO PREP

For this class, bring your curiosity, an open mind, and something to take notes with. OPTIONAL: a one-minute SHAKESPEAREAN MONOLOGUE (verse preferred).
